Slide.li
Slide.li was my first serious startup venture, co-founded during my university years. The project aimed to revolutionize how people create and share presentations, focusing on simplicity and collaboration.
The most remarkable aspect of Slide.li was the speed of execution: we went from concept to working MVP in just 3 months. This rapid development cycle taught me invaluable lessons about focus, prioritization, and the power of constraints in driving innovation.
The platform gained enough traction to secure speaking opportunities at major tech conferences, including Demo Conference in the USA and Dublin Web Summit - significant achievements for a student-led startup.
Key accomplishments:
- MVP development in 3 months from concept to launch
- Presentation at Demo Conference (USA)
- Speaking opportunity at Dublin Web Summit
- User base growth through organic adoption
- Collaborative presentation editing features
- Real-time synchronization technology
- Mobile-responsive design before it was standard
- Integration with popular presentation formats
- Team collaboration and version control
- Analytics and usage tracking
The technical stack was cutting-edge for its time, focusing on real-time collaboration and cross-platform compatibility. We built custom solutions for problems that would later be solved by more mature frameworks.
While Slide.li ultimately didn't achieve the scale we envisioned, it provided foundational experience in startup building, product development, and the importance of timing in technology ventures.
The project established patterns I still use today: rapid prototyping, user-focused development, and the courage to present early-stage work to demanding audiences.
