Karaton 2 (karaton.ai)

Karaton 2 represents the evolution of the original Karaton project, bringing modern cloud architecture and AI capabilities to help children with dyslexia. As Cloud Architect and Senior Developer, I led the technical transformation of this educational gaming platform.
The project aimed to leverage advances in cloud computing and AI to create a more adaptive and personalized learning experience for children struggling with reading. Building on the foundation of the original Karaton, we reimagined the platform for the modern era.
Key technical achievements:
- Migrated from monolithic architecture to cloud-native microservices
- Implemented adaptive AI algorithms for personalized learning paths
- Built scalable infrastructure to support thousands of concurrent users
- Developed real-time analytics for tracking learning progress
- Created parent and educator dashboards for monitoring
- Integrated modern game engine for improved graphics and performance
- Implemented multi-language support for international expansion
The platform uses machine learning to adapt difficulty levels in real-time based on each child's progress, ensuring they remain challenged but not frustrated. This personalized approach has shown significant improvements in reading comprehension and confidence.
Technical stack includes:
- Cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure
- Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Real-time data processing with Apache Kafka
- Machine learning models for adaptive learning
- React Native for cross-platform mobile apps
- Unity for game development
- PostgreSQL and Redis for data storage
The project demonstrates how modern technology can be applied to solve real educational challenges, making learning accessible and enjoyable for children with learning differences.
